Vienna, March 25th, 2025
German tech company Nect has introduced the first fully automated, AI-driven solution for digital identity verification, eliminating the need for human intervention. By setting new benchmarks for security and user experience, Nect is reshaping the industry. With backing from Round2 Capital, the company is poised to strengthen its leadership in the EU and accelerate global expansion.
Founded in 2017, Nect quickly gained recognition for its identity verification technology, supported by early government grants and seed investments. By 2020, Nect had scaled its services significantly, playing a key role in critical projects such as COVID-19 relief efforts. In 2021, Nect’s automated ID verification method became the first AI-based, non-human intervention needed, solution certified to deliver same level of trust as ID-Verification in physical presence according to the EU’s eIDAS regulations and German local requirements set by the Federal Network Agency and the Federal Office for Information Security.
Since then, Nect has maintained a strong upward trajectory, extending Nect Ident into a multi-method ID-Verification and launching new products like the Nect Wallet and Nect Sign, a qualified electronic signature (QES) solution, which have been successfully adopted across industries such as banking, insurance, telecommunications, and government. In recognition of its growth, Nect has been named one of Germany’s fastest-growing companies by Deloitte in both 2023 and 2024.
The global digital identity verification market is experiencing strong growth as businesses and governments increasingly seek secure, user-friendly, and scalable solutions for online interactions. With evolving regulations and rising demand for remote services, Nect is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend. With its innovative technology, strong customer base, and already operationally profitable business, the company is well-equipped to take a leading role in the growing digital identity market and expand its presence further.
The revenue-based financing investment, with its flexible repayment structure, is perfectly suited to Nect’s business model. This non-dilutive funding allows shareholders to maintain full control of the company while capitalizing on new growth opportunities. It gives Nect the financial flexibility to scale operations, innovate its product offerings, and expand into new markets without having to dilute equity.
Benny Bennet Jürgens, CEO of Nect, commented:
“We have built our foundation of 12 million users on one key principle: We design the best solutions for the user and build and invent the security technology to match. With the support of Round2 Capital, we look forward to expanding into new markets, driving innovation and leading the industry into a new era.”
Stefan Nagel, Managing Partner at Round2 Capital, added:
“Nect’s leadership in the digital identity space is a testament to their innovation and adaptability. We are proud to support their continued growth and look forward to seeing their solutions revolutionize digital identity verification on a global scale.”
